If I were to ask you how much you value yourself, what would you say?
Take a few minutes, and really think about your own sense of value, not from a place of ego, but from a space of truth. The type of truth that you feel and know from the heart centre.
How much do you really value your time, your talents, your gifts, your body, your mind, and how much do you value what you have to offer and contribute to the world?
You see, each of us impacts this world through the template of how we choose to project ourselves in to the world, how we choose to interact with others, and how we choose to spend our time, and who we choose to spend our time with.
The word you need to allow penetrate your mind here is “CHOICE”. This is because in every moment you make a choice. You choose to think the thoughts you think, you choose to eat the foods you eat, you choose to have the people that you surround yourself with, and you choose the situations and environments in which you work and live in.
At this point, your ego mind may be fighting my words, as it "chooses" to devolve responsibility from your less than desirable circumstances. However, it takes courage and awareness to accept that you and your life are the outcome of your accumulated choices.
In every moment, you have a choice, you have a choice to be happy, or you have a choice to be sad, and most of the time you make your choices unconsciously based on your beliefs about yourself and the world.
You choose based on your sense of value for yourself. I am not referring to your value as a monetary term here, although you can also conceptualise this in monetary terms, especially if you are a service provider that charges based on your time and expertise.
I am not even referring to a numbering system when I talk about your value. The value system I am referring to is an internal barometer to your own divinity, and it is this value that defines your sense of inner power and worth.
The root of self worth is firmly planted in the perceptions and beliefs you hold about yourself, and this is formed through different layers of your life experiences, starting from the time of being in your mother’s womb, to the present day.
The beliefs and programmes you carry about your sense of worth are primarily constructed in the first seven years of your life. As a child you are completely open and receptive to forming beliefs and impressions in an effort to create a sense of identity, which then assists you in navigating through the physical plane to become a part of the world you live in.
Literally, every word and opinion you hear from people close to you as a child, you take in as your own beliefs, and this imprint becomes an active component for generating your emotions and your life experiences based on the blueprint that doesn’t even belong to you.
At the core of your being there is a level of knowing that you are great and infinite, this is your raw potential, your sense of limitless self, but this raw potential is so often masked with layers of psychological wounds that were created as a result of trauma, abuse, rejection, criticism, and your own internal chatter.
The key to remember here is that the voice of your own ego mind is ten folds more powerful than the voice of other people’s insults or criticisms. In fact, it is the voice of your own ego that has the power to lock in limiting beliefs that will further shatter your sense of worth, through internalising the external statements or expressions you receive. This limiting belief then begins to serve you in creating more of the experiences and people that vibrate at its energetic frequency.
It is fair to say, that our sense of worth suffers at the hands of our overactive ego driven mind, and our acceptance of the negative internal chatter continues to diminish our sense of worth and value.
Up to this point, you may have allowed your psyche to be penetrated and impacted by the belief system of the people in your life, and reinforced further by the fearful voice of your own ego. However from this point, the point by which you begin to understand the building blocks to your sense of worth and value, you have a choice. You can choose to continue as you are, or you can begin to awaken to your sense of power that fuels your self worth and value, and start to pay close attention to the internal chatter that takes place within your mind, and mindfully direct the projected mind narratives towards a dialogue that benefits you, rather than detriments your sense of worth and value.
If we are to evolve and grow, we are not to fear the ego mind, quite the contrary, we are to fully utilise the gift that the ego mind has to offer by loving the ego, and assuring it that it is safe, by regular reinforcment that there is no need for excessive protection by the ego. Your ego mind has one purpose, and that is to ensure your survival. It is here to protect you, to shield you from harm and to push you away from danger. However, too often, in its attempt to undertake its survival function, we allow it to lead our mind fully. This is where the ego oversteps the mark in an attempt to shield you from what it considers as danger. This is because the ego is programmed to detect every experience as a threat, and if allowed to continue generating fear, it will damage your sense of worth and value.
It is therefore your choice to consciously collaborate and work in partnership with your ego mind, and where possible assure this part of your mind that you are safe, and not in need of protection.
This type of mind collaboration allows you the opportunity to take control of your life experiences and choices. As you become more self aware on the mechanics of your mind, so you will begin to infuse magic in to your reality, and you open the door to living a fulfilled life with the ability to tap in to your full potential and power.
The decision to have this life starts with the choices you make in your mind, and how you honour and nurture the different parts of your mind.
Everything in life is created by choice, your choice, so make sure that in every moment you choose thoughts and mind dialogues that serve you.
